Perfectly Surreal

Little town, its a quiet village. Every day, like the one before. Little town, full of little people; waking up to say….Guten Morgen! (Adapted from ‘Beauty and the Beast’)

The train screeched to a halt at a small building, painted blue letters reading HALLSTATT. With an Austrian family, a Hispanic family and a couple of young Japanese tourists, Lynnae and I made our way down to the quaint ferry dock. The beauty of our retreat and a few swans greeted us and kept us company until the ferry arrived.

The next few days were filled with indescribable beauty, hikes, leisurely breakfasts with endless coffee, apple strudel and quiet nights.

I’m determined to visit Hallstatt again. A picture perfect, sleepy town filled with Austrian charm.
