Not Afraid

I love this. And its where I choose to stand. I haven’t said much here, but I am a runner. I LOVE to run and a Boston Marathon qualifying time was and still is my runner’s dream. I believe that the running community will be stronger because of this, stand up and fight for what we love to do. Something we are blessed to do. I thank God for my legs, my lungs and a place to run every time I’m out there. And I’ll keep running.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Jesus Calling on April 15th begins with this: “Trust Me, and don’t be afraid. Many things feel out of control. Your routines are not running smoothly. You tend to feel more secure when your life is predictable. Let Me lead you to the rock that is higher than you and your circumstances. Take refuge in the shelter of My wings, where you are absolutely secure.”

The scripture: Isaiah 12:2

“Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation.”

And this: “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Grab hold of His peace. Our sin is what causes the messiness of our world and His grace covers that. Take refuge and comfort in His wings. And please, pray for Boston. And the broken and hurting all over our World. And finally, go and be Jesus to them.
